The most significant risk is from a young person being given a paper asthma action plan that is different to the version they have previously been given with the app (eg they attend A&E due to exacerbation and the asthma plan is stepped up).

In this case we advise the app is deleted and the young person refers to the paper version they have been given. Patients who are not likely to understand the importance of using their latest care plan (whether digital or paper) should not be recruited at this time.

At the next review with someone who has access to the clinical portal the digital asthma plan can be updated via the portal and a new link to the app can be provided.
